Something special is taking place at Avasara.
Not only the transformation of our students, but the development of a unique model – a model of excellence to help inform and guide educational institutions across the country. Avasara’s curriculum is designed to prepare students for success within the most rigorous colleges and universities in the world and create world-class leaders for tomorrow.
Our programs begin in 6th grade and continue through 12th grade. The Avasara curriculum is delivered over seven years, during the most formative and crucial years of adolescence. Reinforced through multiple and creative learning methodologies, it couples the rigorous Cambridge A-Level curriculum with specially developed courses and experiences in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and India Studies.

Leadership, Entrepreneurship and India Studies (LEI)
Socio-Emotional Learning
College and Career Counseling
Avasara’s approach to teaching and learning emphasises skills such as critical thinking and communication alongside habits of mind such as intellectual humility, peer collaboration, and exploration. From 6th grade to 10th grade, students pursue multiple subjects in hands-on inquiry-oriented classrooms. Avasara faculty will challenge students to see linkages across disciplines and to apply their knowledge as young leaders.
In AS and A (or 11th and 12th grade), students deep-dive into three subjects of their choosing, and begin to practise the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required of a graduate-level researcher in that subject.
In recent years, Avasara students have achieved the highest marks across India in Science and Global Perspectives.
Every year, our LEI classes begin with students immersing themselves in books, discussions, and journaling in an exploration of identity and community. Students create identity maps, record ‘This I Believe’ podcasts, write ‘Where I’m From’ poems, and find other creative ways to speak up and quietly introspect.
Each grade level in LEI explores leadership, entrepreneurship, and India studies in unique ways. One grade might identify role models through biographies, ultimately creating a living wax museum, whereas another may delve into current events and oral presentations on entrepreneurs in their communities. High school students apply their learnings by creating business plans for start-ups or social enterprises, and executing their ideas on the ground. In each year of study, our students examine the Indian Constitution and government, entrepreneurship and markets, school- and community-level change, while practising the public speaking, collaboration, and reflection they will need along the way.
Counseling
Avasara has designed structures to provide two types of counseling for our students: social-emotional; and college and career counseling.
Avasara builds critical thinking skills and intellect, but places equal importance on developing socio-emotional maturity. Through counseling classes, a 1:11 advisory program and grade level seminars, in which direct discussions about our core values are emphasized, we ensure students develop the social and emotional skills to meet the demands of our program and thrive in life beyond school.
Our counselors help students identify and gain entrance to reputed Indian and international universities and connect them to relevant networks of people and internships. The college and career counseling program at Avasara aims to provide students with the necessary tools and information to help them build personalized college, internship and career exploration pathways, taking into consideration their unique strengths, aptitudes, dispositions and aspirations.
We guide each student in:
- Identifying universities that fit career goals and personal preferences;
- Preparation for university entrance exams, including the SAT and TOEFL;
- Navigating the university application process;
- Identifying and securing sources of financial aid and scholarships.
